About the trainship, it was really interesting. Doctors were teaching me and the Resident were really nice. I think study in Riau University, in the surgery Département was an interesting experience. And I learn a Lot ☺️
About the social Programm and welcoming Part. Unfortunately i was alone but there are some Kind places to see like elephant, siak and Lot of things like this not really far away. The welcomming Part, my contact Person wasn’t present for me, but Java has been Perfect ! The résidence is quite alright, you can find All you Need and the room with all the Necessary 😁
It was important for our future career as doctors to see a different way of doing medicine, specially concerning the tropical diseases cause we don’t get to see them in Europe in general!. Sometimes it was hard to follow beacause of the language but if the students/doctors explain to us the medical record, clinic examination etc it’s alright 😉
Same ! It was really interesting to see a different approach of the healthcare. As future doctors I think we are more aware now about inequalities between health systems in the world. I saw some diseases that I never had chance to really explore in France. I’m also thankful towards all the medical and paramedical staff for their hard work

In June 2023, I went to the University of Riau in Indonesia for clinical attachment. It was one of the most unforgettable experiences in my life.
I had an attachment in the internal medicine department, where there are different diseases, including some unique tropical diseases like dengue fever. I broadened my horizons due to this trip. For example, I didn’t know medical students have to do night shift in other countries before I came! I also knew more about different culture like the Islam after this exchange.
I am delighted to have lessons with local medical students, who are all very nice. Even though I don’t know Bahasa Indonesian, they were so kind that they translated for me. Some even brought me to different tourist spots and invited me to their home on Eid al-Adha Day! And we kept in contact even after I came back to HK!
The Doctors also took good care of me. Maybe their English is not as fluent as native speakers, but they tried their best to teach me and explained to me what was happening. Therefore, I am more than grateful to everyone I met in Indone
My exchange experience at the University of Riau, specifically in the plastic surgery department of the Arifin Achmad Hospital, has been the best experience I have had in my life. Thanks to this, I have been able to learn about different processes, techniques, and diseases that are not very common. in my country El Salvador, surgeries that I never imagine being able to attend as well as a flap, despite the fact that the surgeries lasted more than 10 hours, I enjoyed them as much as I could, and as for the doctors and the staff of the hospital I can only say that they have become very important people for me whom I admire very much, and I want to thank you for making me feel welcome from day one
