Hello CIMSA! SCOPH CIMSA FK UNRI successfully carried out the MINDS-UP! (Mental Illness Needs Discussion and Support – Understanding & Prevention) activity on October 28th, 2023, commemorating World Mental Health Day. MINDS-UP! was live on Instagram @cimsaunri from 03.45 pm to 05.00 pm WIB.
MINDS UP was implemented to celebrate World Mental Health Day, and based on an assessment that we distributed via social media, most of the respondents were still taboo and had difficulty understanding mental illness. Apart from that, based on data from the Indonesia National Adolescent Mental Health Survey 2022, 15.5 million (34.9 percent) teenagers experience cognitive problems, and 2.45 million (5.5 percent) teenagers experience mental disorders. Of that number, only 2.6 percent accessed emotional and behavioral counseling services. Basic Health Research (Riskesdas) 2018 shows that more than 19 million people aged over 15 years experience mental and emotional disorders and more than 12 million people aged over 15 years experience depression.
Therefore, SCOPH CIMSA FK UNRI held MINDS UP! to increase general public mental health awareness regarding MINDS-UP. OC received training from the Public Health Leader SCOPH CIMSA, namely Faradhifa Karima Ardianti, with the material theme “Mental Illness,” held on October 13th, 2023, at 7.00 pm WIB. Apart from that, it is also hoped that OCs who are medical students can become role models in efforts to prevent mental illness. After MINDS-UP Training Pre-activity was held, SCOPH CIMSA UNRI invited CIMSA FK UNRI Trainer and Member SCOPH CIMSA FK UNRI, namely Yogi Amorega S.Ked and Luciana Stephany, to provide information related to Mental Health in a talk show on Radio RRI Pro 2 Pekanbaru which was held on October 12th, 2023 at 4.00 pm WIB. The proudest thing is that the air campaign participant achievement target exceeded the minimum target of 139 participants from the initial target of 50 participants through publications on Instagram @cimsaunri. The following activity flow is posting a national poster competition on Instagram @cimsaunri. One hundred thirty-nine participants attended the competition, and there were three winners, which we published on Instagram @cimsaunri.
