Hello CIMSA! SCOPE CIMSA FK UNRI finished the World Bioethics Day celebration event called DARLING (Digital health ethics: navigating social media for adolescent well-being) on October 14, 2023. This hybrid event was held in the first-floor studio room of the UNRI Medical Faculty and via Zoom.
World Bioethics Day is an annual celebration that was held on October 19. This year, SCOPE CIMSA FK UNRI took on the theme “Digital health ethics: navigating social media for
adolescent well-being,” in which this time we focused more on how social media impacts our
social and professional lives as future doctors, the dos and don’ts of social media, the roles of
bioethics in this digital era, and so many more. The reason why we chose this theme is because nowadays, almost every living human has a social media account like Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, etc. Especially the millennials or Gen Z. So it is essential for us to know how to accommodate it well so it can help us in the long run. The advancement of the internet is like a double-edged sword; if we use it right, it can give us good results, but if we
use it wrong, it can have dire consequences.
Before the main event, OC had received a brief explanation about “Digital health ethics: Navigating social media for adolescent well-being” by our LEO in Wahyuning Lestari and LEO out Adinda Elisabet, which was held on October 11, 2023. The main event was held on October 14, 2023, with Dr. Peksi Saphira Miradalita as our guest speaker. As a doctor influencer herself, dr. Peksi talks about the good and bad impact of social media on our lives,
whether it’s our professional or personal lives, what we should and shouldn’t do if we want to
become a doctor influencer, tips and tricks to become a successful doctor influencer, her experience as a doctor influencer, and so many more. It is hoped that after the event is carried out, it can increase the OCs’ and all the participants’ knowledge about how to use social media to our advantage and not vice versa.
