(A Smoking Prevention by Interactive Experience)

CIMSA UNRI successfully held ASPIRE (A Smoking Prevention Interactive Experience) on Saturday June 18th 2022. ASPIRE was held offline on SMPN 5 Pekanbaru 9.00 – 11.30 a.m due to celebrating World No Tobacco Day 2022.
ASPIRE is held by CIMSA unri regarding nearly all tobacco use begins during youth and progresses during young adulthood. More than 3,200 children age 18 or younger smoke their first cigarette every day. Nearly 9 out of 10 smokers start before the age of 18 and almost all start smoking by age 26. Every adult who dies early because of smoking is replaced by two new young smokers. If smoking continues at current rates, 5.6 million—or 1 out of every 13—of today’s children will ultimately die prematurely from a smoking-related illness.
Before the activity ASPIRE being held, CIMSA UNRI held pre activity training regarding to the basic knowledge about tobacco. The training was given by one of CIMSA UNRI trainer Raihanah Zahroh as Trainer CIMSA UNRI. The training consist of information about tobacco and its negative impacts for our body.
The event initially opened with remarks from the Project Officer, headmaster of SMPN 5m Pekanbaru, and LOCO CIMSA UNRI. Then proceed with filling pre-test on the topic that is about to be discussed. The peak event, presentation of material by our speaker, dr. Rayhan Prayoga, who is a general practitioner at RS Petala Bumi Pekanbaru, and a former CIMSA member of SCORE UGM. After the presentation of the material, we open a QnA session for the students to ask what they want to know related to the topic.

After QnA session, the students proceed to fill post-test to evaluate the students understanding of the material given. After the post test, we held games where the student guess what the other student imitate.

As to end the event, it was closed with handing over certificate to the speaker, dr. Rayhan Prayoga, the OSIS as intermediary for the school, and for all of the students who participate on the event. After giving certificates, we take pictures with the participants and the school staff
